I was born into a creative family of photographers.

Growing up in the late 60's Dad had the biggest studio of its day in Sussex St, Sydney used for photography and typesetting.

Mum arrived from London at the age of 21 and worked as a  window dresser at David Jones.

I grew up listening to incredible music, oggling at National Geographic, & photography books. 

Whilst working at the studio & on location assisting my Dad ( Dollings & Assoc Pty Ltd ) I gained my Bachelor of Arts Degree at City Art Institute in Paddington, Sydney with a major in photography.

After graduating I went freelance & have been ever since.  I have been very fortunate & have worked alongside some of Australias finest photographers.

My styling career started in interiors, my real love. I’ve always been involved in the art direction process & creating ideas.

 I love building sets & creating lifestyle imagery alongside the client & art/creative director.

I admit to hoarding and loving anything odd, weird and unique

I even collect & save discarded food and am fascinated at the aging process. ( and of course foliage)

Lately, most of my work is food.

We own a prop house - The Prop Co-Op.

We are surrounded by beautiful ceramics & props from all over the world.We hire our props & background surfaces to advertising agencies, other freelance stylists, photographers for editorial & advertising shoots.

Our props have appeared in Australian magazines & many cook books, by Australias leading publishers.

Teaching : in 2016 we , my husband and i Joe @joefilshie started teaching food and photography workshops here in our studio ,prop house , also abroad and yes…… we lug props with us in our luggage.

I started making ceramics 18 mths ago. it was inevitable. ( August 2019)

I sit at our coffee table nightly with my rolling pin and just cant stop making …..#withmyrollingpin #atmycoffeetable

all profits from the sale of my ceramics goes to families we know in Ethiopia & Myanmar( Burma).
